Buncombe County Special Collections: Come Hell or High Water.

A special post-hurricane Helene oral history project with visual support that includes my first-person interviews of storm survivors. This project is also being done concurrently with the ongoing documentation work I’m doing covering the many towns and regions affected by the storm in a series of before and after sequences.

This group exhibition sheds light on the nature of interiority within built structures. Featured artwork includes ceramic sculptures, graphite drawings, digital photography, and paintings. Each depicted space, from an abandoned barbershop to an abstracted architectural plan, reminds us that interiors and exteriors are not just physical constructs, but also vessels of memories, emotions, and histories.

Human+Nature: presents photographic explorations of the interconnected relationship between humans and nature. These images reveal not only our individual perception of nature, but also our own nature made manifest through changes inflicted on the environment and the adjustment of humankind within self-created structures. Our primary human instincts drive us to control and dominate while also nurturing and finding connection in our surroundings.
